Grayton Beer Company Celebrates Its Franklin County Oyster Stout with Launch Party

GBC_FranklinCountyOysterStout_Invite.jpg

Santa Rosa Beach, Fla. (October 18, 2017) – Grayton Beer Company continues its celebration of limited release beers with its Franklin County Oyster Stout Launch Party on October 26, 2017, from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. In addition to one free sample of the stout, guests will enjoy oysters on the half shell by 30A Oyster and live music by Continuum.

Oysters and Stouts have long been side by side, as the briny mollusks were enjoyed with a pub stout in 1800’s England. It soon became commonplace to filter and clear the brew with the calcium carbonate rich shells. Sometime later, an adventurous brewer tossed in the meat itself and a new style was born. Located in Franklin County and part of the unique culture of the scenic panhandle, Apalachicola is true “Old Florida” and is home to the seafood-rich Apalachicola Bay at the mouth of the Apalachicola River which accounts for over 90% of the state’s oyster production.

This is our homage to the sleepy, quaint fishing village of Apalachicola, FL. Usage of poblano and chipotle peppers, as well as fresh Florida lemon peel, interplay with a delicate hop aroma making this a complex, yet sessionable stout.

“The flavors we use to craft this stout are intended to be reminiscent of how you should enjoy an oyster, with a dash of hot sauce and a squeeze of lemon,” said Head Brewer Tyler White.

The Grayton Beer Company Taproom is located within the local brewery at 217 Serenoa Road, Santa Rosa Beach, FL 32459. For more information on the event, please visit the event page atbit.ly/GBC_OysterStoutLaunch2017.

Santa Rosa Beach, Fla. (September 26, 2017) – At the beginning of August, Grayton Beer Company opened its brewery bay doors and welcomed 1,000 pounds of freshly harvested Centennial hops from Hop Head Farms, located in Hickory Corners, Michigan. The “wet hops,” as they are commonly known in the beer business, traveled 1,000 miles on a refrigerated truck and arrived at the Santa Rosa Beach brewery in early August.

Following the arrival of the hops, the Grayton Beer Company brew team, under the leadership of Head Brewer Tyler White, worked throughout the day to incorporate the fresh hops into their fall seasonal beer.

“The fresh hops give us an amazing opportunity to feature flavors and aromas not normally available in processed hops, said White.” The result is a beer with crisp, bright citrus and floral notes that provide a great balance to the sweetness of the malt.”

In celebration of the release, called CentenniALE, Grayton Beer Company will host a Harvest Ale Release Party on Thursday, September 28, 2017.  The Taproom will open from 12:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. The event will begin at 6:00 p.m. with live music by the Graytones and the Back Beach Barbecue food truck on site. Upon arrival, each guest will receive a token for a complimentary sample of the CentenniALE.

During the event Grayton Beer Company will be collecting donations for the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office which serve the Florida Keys. The first 100 guests who bring donations to the Taproom on Thursday, September 28 will receive one free Grayton Beer Company branded pint glass. Donations being collected for the first responders include extension cords, work gloves, sunscreen, bug spray, ball caps, siphon hoses, garden hoses, WD-40, para cord, rubber and regular boots, fix-a-flat, tire plug kits, new clothes, new linens and gift cards to such stores as Publix, Winn-Dixie, and Home Depot.
